State OKs Resurfacing Routes 31, 38, 64, U.S. 20 Work and More

Kane County is going to get some important resurfacing work done on high-profile state routes including IL Route 64, IL Route 38 and IL Route 31. Also, more than $5.5 million will go toward widening and resurfacing U.S. 20 in Pingree Grove.

According to the Chicago Construction News website, Gov. Pat Quinn made the announcement as part of a $25 million in contracts for DeKalb, Kane and Kendall Counties under the “Illinois Jobs Now!” capital program.

The website reports that a laundry list of projects that includes:

  • $2,128,534 for resurfacing Illinois Route 64 from County Line Road to Illinois Route 47 in Maple Park, Virgil, Virgil Township and Campton Township.
  • $5,539,055 for 0.91 miles of widening, resurfacing, traffic signal modernization, lighting and left turn lanes on U.S. 20 at the North Junction of Illinois Route 47/72 in Pingree Grove.
  • $1,846,668 for resurfacing Route 38 from West County Line Road to Illinois Route 47.
  • $4,721,282 to resurface nine miles of Route 38 from Illinois Route 47 to Illinois Route 31.
  • $261,633  to resurface 0.46 miles of Bluff City Boulevard from U.S. 20 to Gifford Road.
  • $1,439,383 to resurface Illinois Route 31 from Elizabeth Place to Main Street in Batavia and Geneva.
  • $402,853 to install solar-powered flashing beacon assemblies, sign panels and thermoplastic pavement markings, construct a raised median refuge island and other work on various routes in Batavia.
  • $1,721,740 for traffic signal improvements on Randall Road from Fabyan Parkway to Silver Glen Road.
  • $1,670,457 to install an Intelligent Transportation System including CCTV, remote traffic microwave sensors, speed confirmation signs and a road weather information station on Stearns Road from Randall Road to Dunham Road.
  • $270,820 for 0.73 miles of resurfacing from Hill Avenue to a point 52 feet south of Montgomery Road in the village of Montgomery and Aurora Township.

The article does not say when work on the projects would start or be completed.
