FREE Electronics, Books Recycling Coming Oct. 11

Kane County Recycles is hosting a free electronics and books recycling event from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 11, at 540 S. Randall Road in St. Charles.

At this event, you can recycle electronics, including computers, keyboards, laptops, printers, televisions (any size or age), stereos, cell phones, microwaves — basically anything with a plug on it except large household appliances like refrigerators and washing machines.

You can also recycle books of any age and condition here.

“We unload for you!” Kane County Recycling Coordinator Jennifer Jarland said.

A complete list of accepted items, and more information can be found on the Kane County Recycles webpage at under “Electronics Recycling.”

The November recycling event will be on Saturday, Nov. 8 at the same location.

In December, Kane County Recycles is hosting a document-shredding event. The event will take place on Saturday, Dec. 13, at the St. Charles location. More information is available online under “Document Shredding” on the Kane County Recycles webpage.
