Happy Halloween! New access road for Elburn Metra station!

OK, maybe the press release isn’t quite that exuberant, but it’s important information for Elburn-area rail commuters.

Beginning Friday, Oct. 31, 2014, there will be a new access road to the Elburn Metra Train station parking lot. Portions of the existing East Railroad Avenue roadway to the Elburn Metra train station from Keslinger Road to the Metra parking lot will be permanently closed to traffic to create a construction haul road to the new Anderson Road Bridge under construction.

Motorists will access the train station parking lot via East Railroad Avenue on a newly constructed access road to the Elburn Metra train station. Additional signage will be placed to clearly identify the new train station access road.

Motorists are advised to pay attention to the new traffic pattern, watch for construction equipment entering and leaving the construction haul road and obey signage directing them to the new Metra train station access road.
