IDOT Ready to Start Yearlong Projects Near Pingree Grove
The Illinois Department of Transportation announced Friday, Oct. 24, that two construction projects at the north and south junctions of U.S. 20, Illinois 72 and Illinois 47, located near Pingree Grove, in Kane County, are scheduled to begin, weather permitting, on Oct. 27.
The improvements consist of roadway widening and resurfacing, as well as traffic signal modernizations at each junction. These projects will require reducing the number of traffic lanes during daytime hours where construction is taking place.
Motorists can expect delays during times when the lane closures are in effect and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signing in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, and be alert for workers and equipment.
The tentative completion date for both projects is Nov. 15, 2015.
