LaFox Road to Close For 5 Hours Sometime Next Week; Different Detour This Time

Bridge work for the rail crossing at LaFox Road will need another day’s worth of work, and transportation officials are letting drivers know that it will be closed for about five hours for one more day during the week of Oct. 27 — but they aren’t sure just yet which day of the week.

LaFox Road was closed for about 10 hours for bridge-repair work at the Union Pacific rail crossing today (Wednesday, Oct. 22.)

As of today, the Kane County Division of Transportation is giving drivers a heads up that LaFox Road between Campton Hills Road and IL Route 38 will be closed to through traffic from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on one day during the week of Oct. 27, 2014, to allow crews better access to the construction site.

Current projections indicate that the closure most likely will occur during the early part of the week — either Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.

Local traffic access to Elodie Drive and North Grand Monde Road will be provided from IL Route 38 to the south only. During this time, large equipment will be working on the bridge, and the road will not be passable.

On Wednesday, Oct. 22, the posted detour route suggested drivers use IL Route 38, IL Route 47 and Keslinger Road. This time around, motorists are advised to follow the posted truck detour, which uses IL Route 64, Randall Road, and IL Route 38.
