McCoy Drive in Aurora Reopens a Week Ahead of Schedule

A stretch of McCoy Drive in Aurora will reopen to traffic by mid-morning today, Friday, Oct. 17 — one week ahead of schedule, the city of Aurora reports.

Since Sept. 29, McCoy Drive has been closed from Oakhurst Drive to Frontenac and has had limited access on the stretch from Eola to Commons as crews worked to repair the roadway east of Oakhurst Drive. The work included drainage and pavement repairs to address damage that occurred last winter resulting in roadway heaving and lane closures.

The project was expected to take four weeks to complete, but was completed a week early, alleviating traffic congestion caused by several on-going state and local road construction projects happening simultaneously throughout the city.

Questions can be directed to the City’s Customer Service Division at (630) 256-INFO.
