REMINDER: Tuesday Is Final Official Day to Register for Nov. 4 Election

Kane County Clerk John A. Cunningham reminds Kane County residents that the last day to register to vote for the Nov. 4, 2014, General Election is Oct. 7, 2014. Most libraries, municipal, and township offices in Kane County do accept registrations until Oct. 7, 2014.

Grace-period registration is an extension of the period of time for a voter to register to vote or to update his or her registration information.

Once registered, this voter will cast a ballot during grace period for the General Election. Beginning Wednesday, Oct. 8, through Oct. 17, 2014 grace-period registration and voting will be available in the Kane County Clerk’s Office only.

Five Permanent Early Voting Sites

The Kane County Clerk’s Office, Kane County Branch Court, Carpentersville Fire Station #3,  Gail Borden Library and Elgin Township Office will offer extended grace period registration and voting beginning Monday, Oct. 20, 2014 until 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014. Two forms of current identification are required to register to vote.

Early Voting

Early Voting for the General Election will begin Monday, Oct. 20, 2014 through Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014. See the Kane County Clerk’s website for details. Registration will resume on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014.

The Kane County Clerk’s Voter Registration Office is located in Building B at the Kane County Government Center, 719 S. Batavia Avenue (Route 31), Geneva.

To register, a person must be a United States citizen, 18 years old on or before Nov. 4, 2014, be a resident of the precinct for 30 days prior to the election, and provide two forms of identification, one of which shows their current name and address.
