Veterans Invited to Monday Forum on Consumer Scams, Fraud Protection
Illinois veterans, their spouses and their families are invited to a Monday, Oct. 20, forum at VFW Post 5036 in St. Charles on how to identify and avoid consumer scams, and protect oneself and one’s family from fraud.
The event will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the Illinois VFW Post 5036, 311 North Second St., St. Charles.
Some of the high-powered speakers will include:
- Lt. Col. Richard Todd, U.S. Army judge advocate; member of Military Affairs Committee, IL Bar Association
- Steve Haubner, chief of Military and Veterans Rights Bureau, IL Attorney General’s Office
- Roland “Arty” Arteaga, president and CEO, Defense Credit Union Council
The forum will help veterans find local assistance and learn more about what protections are already available under state and federal laws.
The forum is sponsored by 14th District Congressman Randy Hultgren, who also will attend the forum.
