Geneva School District Hosts School-Funding Discussion Dec. 11
The Geneva School District 304 Board of Education will host a program by Ralph Martire on the Future of Illinois State Funding at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, at Geneva Middle School South, 1415 Viking Drive, Geneva.
Martire, executive director of the Center for Tax and Budget Accountability, will discuss how Illinois’ lack of money may have profound consequences on the future state-aid formula. He also will discuss the possible impact of pending legislation.
Attendees can learn more about the state’s present fiscal climate and find out possible changes for this year.
As a member of the River Forest SD 90 Board of Education, Martire brings unique knowledge to his presentation. He is a distinguished lecturer on public policy and has received numerous awards for his work on education policy reform, including an appointment to serve on the U.S. Department of Education Equity and Excellence Commission in 2011.
