Train-Semi Collision Delays Metra West Line Thursday Night

Metra reported at 5:33 p.m. Thursday that outbound and inbound trains on the West Line are delayed due to a grade-crossing incident.

The Chicago Tribune said the delays were caused then a train hit a semi-trailer truck in the West Garfield neighborhood.

Train #45, which was scheduled to arrive Geneva at 5:47 p.m., was stopped near Kilbourn Avenue. The train arrived in Geneva around 7:50 p.m.

Trains traveling to Chicago, Geneva, West Chicago, La Fox, and Elburn were delayed departing and arriving Ogilvie Transportation Center due to the same grade-crossing incident. Train #54, scheduled to arrive Chicago at 4:50 p.m., also stopped near Kilbourn Avenue.
