Orchard Road Right-Turn Lane Will Close For a Week, Starting Dec. 1
Sanitary-sewer work will require the temporary closing of a right-turn lane on Orchard Road for about a week, starting Dec. 1.
The work will be done to repair a sanitary sewer line along the east side of Orchard Road, near the intersection of Orchard Road and Rochester Road. Construction work hours on Orchard Road will be from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day for about a week, weather permitting.
The affected area of Orchard Road will be from Rochester Road to about 500 feet south of Rochester Road.
The northbound right-turn lane at the intersection of Rochester Road and Orchard Road will be closed for the week. Right turns will be allowed from the outside lane of Orchard Road.
Crews will excavate within the right of way adjacent to Orchard Road and remove and replace an existing traffic signal pole on Orchard Road.
The Kane County Division of Transportation asks drivers to watch out for workers along the roadway and trucks entering and leaving the closed right turn lane. Flaggers may be present, and motorists are advised to be alert and reduce speed while traveling through the construction zone.
Motorists should expect minor delays and possible increased travel times during the construction process.
