How, When and Where to Recycle Christmas Lights in Kane County
Did you know you can recycle your Christmas light strands at Kane County electronics drop-offs spots and upcoming events?
Bring those old burned out holiday lights strands to the recycling event on second Saturdays — Jan. 10, Feb. 14, March 14 –along with any other electronic items you want to recycle.
For a full list of acceptable items, click on the event link above. The event will be at 540 S. Randall Road in St. Charles, from 8 a.m. to noon. You can also deliver light strands to the permanent drop-off locations located throughout the county. Please place them in boxes or bags.
Lights entwined in garlands must be removed from the garland, and the garland disposed of separately. If you can’t remove the garlands from the lights, the lights aren’t reusable and must go in the trash.
Clear out the attic, basement, and garage for the holiday season, with a clear conscious knowing it will be recycled!
