Community volunteers of a local non-profit have been providing fundamental assistance to numerous underprivileged children since its inception in 1997. On Thursday, the foundation’s 2014 Spirit Wrapping Event took place at a local retailer in St. Charles.
The Renaissance Foundation President Nuala Rosensteel held the first annual Spirit Wrapping Event in 2011, and the number of gifts donated and families assisted has grown every year.
“In 2013, we provided for over 130 homeless children, this year that number increased to 168,” Rosensteel said. “We could not do it without our corporate and local organizations, as well as residential donors.”
Other annual fundraising events and gifted funds directly support underserved children in the Kane County communities. For a list of recipients, please click here.
