Fire District, Library Candidates Removed From Ballot
Kane County’s Electoral Board on Thursday ruled that one candidate would be removed from the Fox River & Countryside Fire & Rescue District and two candidates would be removed from the Gail Borden Public Library ballot.
The consolidated election is set for April 7, 2015.
According to a press release from the Election Department of the Kane County Clerk’s Office, the Electoral Board sustained challenges to the petitions of Fox River & Countryside Fire & Rescue District candidate Scott Coryell and to Gail Borden Public Library District candidate Bonifacio G. Mondragon.
The board “neither overruled nor sustained” the candidacy of Gail Borden Public Library District candidate Tiffany L. Henderson, but she chose to withdraw from the race, the press release said.
The board — which is made up of Kane County Clerk John A. Cunningham, Kane County State’s Attorney Joseph H. McMahon and Kane County Circuit Clerk Thomas M. Hartwell or their designees — overruled objections to the petitions of Gail Borden Library candidates Carlos R. Chavez, Jean Bednar and Herbert Gross.
Robert Handley filed the objection against Coryell; Randolph Lee Hopp filed the objections to the Gail Borden Library Board candidates.
