Haimann Hosts Pizza Party Friday in Carpentersville to Benefit Food Pantry

Joe Haimann

Kane County Board member Joe Haimann is hosting a pizza party Friday, Jan. 9, at Village Pizza and Pub145 N. Kennedy Drive, just off Route 25 in Carpentersville, to benefit the Fish Food Pantry in Carpentersville.

“This is the third year we’ve done it,” said Haimann, who pays for the pizza and the pop out of his own pocket, then donates all the proceeds to the food pantry.

“You know, in November and December, everybody’s got a giving heart,” he said. “So I try to do it in January, because that’s when the food pantry needs donations the most.”

For every $1 donation, the food pantry is able to get $4 of food to hungry families in the area, Haimann said. Last year, the pizza party raised $1,585.

Haimann hopes for a minimum donation of $10 for the all-you-can-eat dinner. The event runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, Jan. 9, 2015.
