Ever wonder how birds survive these brutal Northern Illinois winters?

If you’d like to find out, there’s a presentation by renowned wildlife instructors Bob and Kathy Andrini coming up at 7 p.m. Jan. 30, at the Campton Township Community Center, 5N082 Old La Fox Road.

The Andrinis are retired educators who still regularly teach nature programs for local organizations, and birding classes for the College of DuPage. They are leaders in the Kane County Audubon Society.  They enjoy sharing knowledge and enthusiasm through their various presentations.  (See www.birdsrkool.com for a list of the programs they offer.)

WINTER BIRDS OF NORTHERN ILLINOIS

What wonders await those who take the time to go out during our winters in search of bird life. Join the Andrini’s as they give a pictorial presentation about many of the birds that are found in Northern Illinois during this time of year. View both permanent residents as well as winter visitors found in fields, streams and back yards. You will also learn about adaptations birds have developed to withstand the inclement conditions that they are subjected to.
