The Kane County Division of Transportation is suggesting that drivers avoid driving on a portion of Stearns Road this coming Tuesday and Wednesday, if at all possible.

Portions of Illinois Route 25/Stearns Road between the Chicago & NorthWestern Railroad tracks and Gilbert Road will be reduced to one lane from 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, to 5 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015, to permit delivery of bridge deck beams to the project.

Traffic will be reduced to one-way travel, controlled by flaggers with several full traffic stops for up to 15 minutes or longer.

The public is asked to avoid the area during this work and seek alternate routes, when possible. Motorists affected by this night work are advised to pay attention to the flaggers and exercise caution while traveling through the work area.
