Long Funeral Procession Expected Saturday Morning for Former Sheriff
Kane County Sheriff’s Office Director of Administration Pat Gengler sent an email Thursday asking citizens to be patient with the long funeral procession expected Saturday morning (Jan. 31, 2015) for former Sheriff George Kramer.
“We anticipate a large procession and would like to inform the citizens that traffic in the following areas will be impacted,” he said.
The funeral procession will leave Holy Cross Church in Batavia around 11 a.m. and travel east on Main Street to Route 31. It will then go south on Route 31, east on Butterfield Road and south on Church Road to Marywood Catholic Cemetery in Aurora.
“We do anticipate a significant impact on traffic near Annunciation Church in Aurora,” Gengler said. “There may be some short-term road closures in that area as the ceremony at the cemetery takes place. People traveling on Church Road during this time should seek an alternate route of travel.”
