Take a Guided Hike to Look for Animals at Tekakwitha Woods Forest Preserve
You’re invited on a guided hike with naturalists from the Forest Preserve District of Kane County on Saturday, Jan. 24 to look for “Habitat Hideouts.”
Hike with us through Tekakwitha Woods Forest Preserve to see signs of animal habitats. We will look for animals and discover how they find food, water and shelter in the coldest months of the year. Some animals hibernate during the winter, while others stay active. While we’re hiking, we’ll look for evidence of these animals such as deer browse, bird and squirrel nests, dens, burrows and more.
This nature program is free, however, advance registration is required. Please register by phone at 630-444-3190 or email programs@kaneforest.com. The “Habitat Hideouts” program is from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tekakwitha Woods Forest Preserve is located at 35W076 Villa Marie Road, St. Charles.
