POLL: Should Kane County Schools Close for the Cold?
The Chicago Tribune ran a story back in January asking whether closing schools for cold weather in Illinois might be “the new normal.”
Most or all Kane County public schools closed Jan. 7 and Jan. 8 due to extreme cold temperatures. Now, forecasters are saying we could be seeing record low temperatures today (Feb. 18, 2015) and Thursday.
The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Advisory for Kane County, IL, which extends through noon Thursday.
The question is: Should our local schools close for extreme-cold-weather events? Please take a minute to check out the Kane County Connects reader poll embedded here.
