Aurora Seeks Public’s Help Finding Man Wanted for Attempted Murder
Aurora Police are asking for assistance in locating a 35-year-old man wanted for attempted murder and multiple other felonies in connection with a domestic-related shooting March 27 on Aurora’s West Side.
Enrique B. Jaquez, whose last known address is in the 300 block of Pearl Street, Montgomery, is also charged with home invasion, aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated discharge of a firearm, and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon stemming from the shooting at around 10:10 a.m. Friday, at a home in the 1800 block of Brighton Circle. The victim, a 40-year-old Aurora man, was critically injured after suffering a single gunshot wound to his side. He remains at an Aurora hospital where he underwent surgery.
Charging documents through the Kane County State’s Attorney indicate that Jaquez allegedly knocked on the front door of his former girlfriend’s home and when she answered, he forced his way into the home and shot the other man. Both the victim and Jaquez then ran from the residence— the victim around the house and Jaquez southbound on Brighton Circle to his SUV and fled the scene. Police later recovered the vehicle in the 1900 block of Kevin Drive in Montgomery and are processing it for evidence.
Jaquez is a male Hispanic, 5’10, 220 lbs., with short black hair and brown eyes. He should be considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Aurora Police Investigators at 630-256-5500, Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at (630) 892-1000, or their local law enforcement agency.
