Fermilab’s award-winning Wonders of Science Show is a magnetic attraction for television programs and thousands of families throughout the Chicago area, and if you’ve never taken your child to see it, you’re missing out.

At this show, scheduled for March 15, high school chemistry teachers present a fast-paced series of demonstrations on chemical and physical phenomena that will involve your young scientists mentally and, at times, physically, Fermilab’s website says.

Portions of this show have been seen on many national television broadcasts, including Inside Edition, CBS News with Charles Kuralt, David Letterman and many more. The presenters are master science teachers who have been recognized locally and nationally for their abilities to reach young minds.

Each family with at least one child in grades 2–7 will receive a kit of materials that will enable them to continue their science explorations at home or in the classroom. Seating is limited and registrations will be accepted in the order they are received. Mail early to ensure your seat at this very popular event. Wonders of Science is an annual program provided by the Education Office at Fermilab.

The annual the Wonders of Science will pack the Ramsey Auditorium at noon on Sunday, March 15, 2015. The show is celebrating its 28th year at the lab. Tickets are $4.50 per person.

“This is one of our most exciting events every year,” said Spencer Pasero, an education program leader at Fermilab. “Everyone has their favorite demonstration, but there’s always something new and exciting to look forward to.”

This year’s theme is magnetism, and the show will feature Weird Science, a group of current and retired high school teachers who have been recognized locally and nationally for their ability to engage young minds.

The Wonders of Science show is intended for ages 7-12, and Girl & Boy Scout troops are welcome. Each family will receive a science kit, which they can use to conduct their own experiments at home.
