FREE Homebuyer Education Class March 14 in Geneva, March 21 in Carpentersville

Looking to buy a home for the first time on Kane County?

Join Neighborhood Housing Services on March 14 in Geneva and on March 21 in Carpentersville for a FREE full day of homebuyer education to get prepared to buy your own home.

“This class is full of useful information, whether you have owned a home in the past or are simply starting to think about purchasing a home,” the NHS said in a press release.

Class topics will include assessing your readiness to own, how to budget your finances and potentially include a new mortgage payment, what credit is and why it’s so important, what professionals should be involved in the home buying process, what happens at the closing and after. Industry professionals may be available to answer any questions you might have after class.

  • What You Get: Upon completion, participants receive a certificate required to take advantage of available downpayment assistance programs in the area.

March 21 Morning Workshop

  • When: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, March 21
  • Where: The Public Building, 1075 Tamarac, Carpentersville, IL 60110
  • What You Get: This class counts towards the certificate required to take advantage of available downpayment assistance programs in the area.
