Police Departments Host 2 Relevant, Powerful ‘Seminars for Seniors’
The Montgomery Police Department, North Aurora Police Department, and Fox Valley Park District Police Department have partnered to form a group called “Senior Awareness & Police Partnership.”
The purpose of the group is to provide information, through education and awareness, to seniors and adults of Montgomery, North Aurora, Aurora and surrounding communities. Topics that will be addressed include recent frauds, popular scams, and identity theft crimes.
The guest speaker is Lisa Thompson-Bennett from the Illinois Attorney General’s office, and she will present on Identity Theft.
On Tuesday, March 31, the first seminar will be held at the Montgomery Police Department (10 Civic Center Ave., Montgomery) from 8:30 a.m. until approximately noon in the community room. The seminar is a free program and light refreshments will be provided.
A second seminar will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday, May 20, at the North Aurora Police Department, 200 S. Lincoln Way, North Aurora. Additional information on that seminar will be available closer to the May 20 session.
