Sobel Reveals the Secret Life of Bees Saturday in Campton Township

Whether you are just curious about honeybees and how honey is made, or you’re considering starting your own hive, come to an informative program Saturday by veteran beekeeper Bob Sobel at the Campton Township Community Center.
Bees are some of nature’s most effective pollinators, and honeybees in particular play a significant role in pollinating many food crops for people.
Sobel will describe the three types of honeybees, and the responsibilities each of these has in the survival and success of their hives. He will also go over hive care basics from a human beekeeper’s perspective. Come learn about these intriguing little creatures and the value they provide to both humans and natural ecosystems.
The event runs from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 14, at the Campton Township Community Center, 5N082 Old La Fox Road, Wasco/St. Charles. Sign language interpretation will be provided by volunteer “student” interpreter Sally Smith. Door prizes will be awarded.
