Could Your Cutie Be a Pets-a-Palooza ‘Spokespet’? (April 10 Contest Deadline)
Your pet could be in the spotlight!
Anderson Animal Shelter in South Elgin is hosting a contest to find its 2015 Pets-a-Palooza Spokespet — but you’d better hurry if you want to enter your furry (or not furry) friend.
“We’re looking for a cute and friendly, outgoing Spokespet who enjoys being in the limelight,” the shelter says on its website.
It should be noted that the contest is not just limited to dogs. Cats and little critters will be considered, as well.
All contestants must have been adopted from Anderson Animal Shelter, must be friendly with people and other pets, and must be available to attend media events and the Pets-a-Palooza event on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015.
To enter the contest on behalf of your pet, submit a photo of your pet, along with a short essay explaining why you think your pet should be the 2015 Pets-a-Palooza Spokespet, to shelter director Beth Drake at bdrake@andersonanimalshelter.org. Entries will be accepted until April 10, 2015. The winner will be chosen from among the top five finalists, through popular vote on the shelter’s website the week of April 20.
Anderson Animal Shelter is a “no-kill,” limited admission facility located at 1000 South LaFox, South Elgin. Its hours are noon to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
