Flood Advisory for Parts of Fox in Kane County

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisory for the Fox River in Kane County, primarily in Algonquin and Montgomery.

The advisory also includes the DesPlaines River at Lincolnshire affecting Lake County, the DesPlaines River near DesPlaines affecting Cook County.

The Fox River advisory is for the Algonquin Tailwater, affecting Kane and McHenry Counties and at Montgomery affecting Kane and Kendall counties.

The advisory for the Fox River at Algonquin Tailwater is in place until Wednesday afternoon.

At 8:30 a.m. Sunday the stage was 8.2 feet. Action stage is 9 feet; flood stage is 9.5 feet. The forecast is that the river will rise to 9 feet by Tuesday.

Precautionary and Preparedness Actions

That NWS advises that if you encounter a flooded roadway, you should turn around and find an alternate route.
