French Road Bridge Replacement Over Burlington Creek Starts Monday
French Road was down to one lane for pavement work back on the week of April 1. Now, it’s on to the next.
On Monday, April 13, 2015, construction will resume on French Road, between Lenschow Road to Illinois Route 72. The northbound lane will be closed with temporary traffic signals, maintaining traffic flow through the construction zone 24-hours a day, for the duration of the project. A reduced speed limit will be posted through the construction zone to protect motorists and construction crews.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution while traveling through the work zone, watch for equipment entering and exiting on French Road, and expect increased travel times.
According to the 2040 Roadway Plan, French Road is one of five realignments in the Western Kane County North-South Corridor. Together, these five alignments provide for a continuous north / south corridor and improve connectivity. The five alignments are:
- Granart Road with Dauberman Road
- Dauberman Road with Meredith Road
- Meredith Road with Peplow Road
- Peplow Road with French Road (Burlington Bypass)
- French Road with Harmony Road
