IDOT: Route 20 Lanes Closed in Kane County for Intersection Construction
The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that lane and intersection traffic restrictions will occur for a reconstruction project along U.S. Route 20 in Kane County beginning, weather permitting, Monday, April 13, 2015.
In order to complete the work, both the northbound and southbound lanes of U.S. 20 between Allens Road and Brier Hill Road will be closed. Temporary roads, one U.S. 20 and one for Allens Road, will be constructed for traffic during work being done on permanent pavement. Briar Hill Road will remain open for construction.
The intersection reconstruction project will be completed by November 2015.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
