As you gear up to celebrate Earth Day and promote recycling with your friends and neighbors, Kane County Recycling Coordinator Jennifer Jarland hopes you will include cartons in the conversation.

Just as a quick progress report, the Carton Council has announced that more than 1 million households have had cartons added to their recycling programs since the beginning of the year. Now, more than 63 million U.S. households can recycle cartons. That’s 54 percent of the entire country, which marks a 200 percent increase since the Carton Council was formed in 2009.

“As we celebrate Earth Day this year, let’s also celebrate all that has been accomplished, which could not have been done without your support and commitment!” Jarland said.
