Kirk Road Intersection Improvement in Batavia to Begin Week of May 4

The Kirk Road at Douglas Road intersection improvement project is scheduled to begin the week of May 4, 2015, weather permitting, with an anticipated duration of about three months.

The project involves the widening and resurfacing of the intersection of Kirk Road at Douglas Road. A northbound left turn lane and a southbound right turn lane are being added to Kirk Road and an eastbound left turn lane is being added to Douglas Road.

This work will require a partial lane closure on Douglas Road permitting westbound only traffic for the duration of the project. Eastbound traffic will be detoured via posted detour routes, using North Raddant Road, Fabyan Parkway, and Kirk Road as alternate paths. Kirk Road will remain open during construction, having four lanes open except during necessary daily lane closures for resurfacing.

Motorists should add additional time to their commutes, expect delays, watch for construction activity, and obey flaggers while traveling through the work areas. Motorists may want to consider the use of alternate routes while this work is being completed.
