Repaving Work on Randall Road Starts ... Now!

Repaving Work on Randall Road Starts … Now!

Starting this week, pavement milling and paving work, as part of the annual resurfacing program, will begin on Randall Road from Red Haw Lane to Dean Street.

Work will begin at Dean Street and progress north. Construction work hours will be from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. for about the next three weeks, weather permitting.

The resurfacing process will include:

  • The removal and replacement of sidewalk approaches and curbs at Dean Street.
  • Removal of 3 inches of existing pavement to allow for the new surface course to be placed.
  • Placement of 3 inches of asphalt over an oil application to provide a new smooth riding surface.
  • Restriping and shouldering of the roadways once asphalt is completed.

Temporary daily lane closures Monday through Saturday will be required to accomplish this work.

The Kane County Division of Transportation asks drivers to please watch for sidewalk closures, fresh oil signs, flaggers, and reduced speed while traveling through the construction zone. Motorists should expect delays, increased travel times during the resurfacing process, and are advised to consider alternate routes during the work.

Questions and concerns may be directed to John Guddendorf at (630) 816-9671. For more on this and other Kane County road work, see the Traffic Advisories page on the Division of Transportation website.
