5 More Volunteers Needed for June 13 Recycling Extravaganza
Kane County Recycles is seeking about four of five more volunteers for its Annual Recycling Extravaganza on Saturday, June 13.
This is a community recycling event attended by more than 2,000 residents.
The county will be recycling electronics, books, latex paint, clothes, shoes, block foam, bikes, mobility devices and more, plus offering confidential document shredding.
“We need help — greeting and guiding traffic, counting visitors, and unloading the cars as they arrive — that’s where you come in!” Kane County Recycling Coordinator Jennifer Jarland said.
In return for the volunteer work, Kane County Recycles provides coffee and doughnuts in the morning, pizza for lunch, and fruit and water throughout the day. Lunch is served after event closes at noon.
The event runs from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 13. Volunteers are asked to arrive at 7 a.m. to sign in, have a snack and get to your station. Children under 17 are welcome to volunteer but must have an adult accompanying them and have a signed waiver form.
The volunteer package, map, waiver form, and event poster are all attached.
Please contact Jennifer Jarland at recycle@countyofkane.org or 630-208-3841 if you are able to volunteer!
