Aurora Ready to ‘Clean Up the Streets’ of Ward 9 on May 30
An Aurora alderman is promoting an effort to “Clean Up the Streets,” including Eola Road, on Saturday.
Alderman Ed Bugg hosts the third annual event on Saturday, May 30, 2015. Stationed at Ace Hardware, 2300 S. Eola Road at Hafenrichter Road in Aurora, the event focuses on cleaning Eola Road and the Ward 9 business corridor.
Registration and breakfast are at 9 a.m., followed by the clean-up and scavenger hunt at 9:30 a.m. A pizza party for all volunteers will be held at 11:30 a.m. The party will feature the WBIG Big Radio Shopping Road Show.
“Last year we had over 150 volunteers, and our goal this year is to have over 250 volunteers from the Ward 9 area,” said Alderman Bugg.
The city of Aurora Alderman’s Office will provide bags, pickers and vests. Each participant will receive coupon certificates from 7-Eleven and Wing Stop and be entered to win numerous prizes from the more than 40 business sponsors.
