‘Critter Camp’ Perfect Summer Program for Animal-Loving Kids
Hey, Kane County parents! Looking for a fun and wholesome activity for your kids this summer?
You might want to check out Anderson Animal Shelter’s “Critter Camp,” a summer day camp program for animal-loving kids that takes place in five, week-long sessions during June, July and August. The sessions are from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for two age groups: 6 to 8 and 9 to 12.
Campers will spend the week engaged in arts and crafts, games and activities with an animal welfare theme. There will also be plenty of hands-on time with shelter animals! Registration started in April, and spots are filling up quickly, so check out Anderson’s website for more information!”
Camp dates are:
- Session 1 (ages 6-8): June 15-19
- Session 2 (ages 9-12): June 22-26
- Session 3 (ages 6-8): July 6-10
- Session 4 (ages 9-12): July 20-24
- Session 5 (ages 6-8): Aug. 3-7
This summer, in an effort to make Critter Camp accessible to all members of our community, Anderson will be offering the opportunity to receive a scholarship.
“It is our hope that children who previously were unable to attend camp due to the cost, will be able to participate this summer,” said the shelter’s Katie-Sue Fisher.
For more information on how to enroll your child in camp and/or apply for the scholarship please contact Fisher at kfisher@andersonanimalshelter.org or (847) 697-2880, Ext 51.
