Former Carpentersville Teacher Charged With Sexually Assaulting Minor

A former Community Unit School District 300 employee who lives in Geneva is charged with having sexual contact with a minor she knew.

Lindsay P. Anderson, 26, of the 900 block of Foxwood Circle, Geneva, is charged with one count of criminal sexual assault, a Class 1 felony, and one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 felony.

Prosecutors allege that between April 1, 2015, and May 8, 2015, Anderson had sexual contact with the victim. Anderson knew the victim, who was younger than 18 years old at the time of the assault. The victim’s parents learned of the alleged assault and contacted East Dundee Police.

Anderson had recently been employed at Carpentersville Middle School.

Anderson was taken into custody by Geneva police on May 15, 2015, and was charged May 16, 2015. She appeared Sunday, May 17, 2015, in Kane County bond court. Bail was set at $100,000. Anderson posted $10,000 bond and was released. Her next court appearance is set for 9 a.m. June 4, 2015, in Courtroom 311 at the Kane County Judicial Center in front of Associate Judge Clint Hull.

As a condition of bond, Anderson cannot have any direct or indirect contact with the victim, cannot go within 150 feet of the victim’s residence, and cannot have unsupervised contact with any child younger than 18 who is not a member of her immediate family.

If convicted of the most serious charge, Anderson faces a sentence of between four and 15 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. In addition Anderson would have to register for life as a sexual offender in accordance with the Illinois Sexual Offender Registration Act.

The case remains under investigation. Anyone with additional information about this case should call Carpentersville Police at (847) 551-3481 or the Kane County Child Advocacy Center at (630) 208-5160.

The charges against Anderson are not proof of guilt. Anderson is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial in which it is the state’s burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
