Kane County Interconnects! Stearns Road Improvements Begin June 8

We know that Kane County Connects! But did we also know that Kane County interconnects?

Well, the Kane County Division of Transportation does, anyway, and starting the week of June 8, 2015, the interconnect improvements on Stearns Road between Randall Road and Illinois Route 25 will begin.

Construction work hours will be from 7 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. each day for approximately six weeks, weather permitting.

The interconnect project will include:

  • Placement of 4-inch conduit along Stearns Road from Randall Road to Illinois Route 25
  • Installing electrical service boxes along the shoulder of Stearns Road from Randall Road to Illinois Route 25

Stearns Road will remain open during the work while temporary daily lane closures Monday through Saturday will be required to accomplish this work. Please watch for lane closures, flaggers, and reduced speed while traveling through the construction zone. Motorists should expect minor delays, increased travel times during the installation of electrical equipment and are advised to consider alternate routes during the work.

Questions and concerns may be directed to John Guddendorf (630) 816-9671. For all Kane County traffic advisories, see KDOT Traffic Alerts.
