St. Charles Stop Added to IDOT Listening Tour
The Illinois Department of Transportation announced Friday, May 1, that a St. Charles stop has been added to listening sessions being held throughout Illinois to discuss the state’s infrastructure needs and priorities.
Meetings will be in Mount Vernon and Peoria on Monday, followed by Collinsville, Carbondale and Godfrey on Tuesday. The other locations the remainder of the week are Quincy and Effingham on Wednesday, wrapping up with Wheeling, Danville, East Hazel Crest and Taylorville on Thursday and St. Charles on Friday.
Held in coordination with the Illinois Capital Development Board, the meetings are designed to engage residents, businesses, local leaders and various stakeholders in identifying the infrastructure challenges we face and setting the priorities for investing now and for future generations. Among the topics that will be addressed are establishing needs and priorities, improving deteriorating roads, bridges and transit systems, providing better access across multiple transportation modes and reinvesting in state facilities, such as airports, schools and parks.
