UPDATE: Officials Apprehend 19-Year-Old Escapee From Youth Center in St. Charles

The Kane County Chronicle reports that Denzell Walker, the 19-year-old who escaped Monday from the Illinois Youth Center in St. Charles, has been captured.
Walker was taken back into custody at 3:10 p.m. Wednesday without incident by the Department of Correction’s Apprehension Unit and the United States Marshals Service Great Lakes Task Force.
As of 9 a.m. Thursday, no information was available on where Walker was captured.

A 19-year-old prisoner escaped Monday from the Illinois Youth Center in St. Charles, according to a release by the Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice.
Denzell Walker escaped from the center at 3825 Campton Hills Road at around 10 p.m. Monday.
“The public should exercise caution and contact law enforcement immediately with any information,” the IDJJ said.
Walker is described as an African-American male, 5-feet, 11 inches tall, about 140 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a blue jumpsuit at the time of the escape.
According to media reports, Walker was returned to departmental custody on June 4, following a parole violation for pending burglary charges.
The IDJJ is working with the Department of Corrections Apprehension Unit, Illinois State Police, the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, St. Charles Police Department and DuPage County Sheriff’s Office.
The details of the escape are still under investigation.
