Campton Hills Village Board Gets 2 New Trustees
Soon after Village President Harry Blecker took office on May 5, 2015, he found himself with two vacancies on the Village Board. One was created by him moving from trustee to president. The second was created by the resignation of former Trustee Al Lenkaitis.
In an effort to fill these vacancies, Blecker reached out to the community and solicited applications from interested residents, and the Village Board interviewed four candidates for the two positions.
On June 16, 2015, James H. McKelvie was sworn in as village trustee to fill the first vacancy. McKelvie has 42 years of corporate experience and has lived in the area at two different periods of his life — returning because of his love of the community. McKelvie is enthusiastic about giving back to the community and serving as a member of the village’s team.
On July 7, 2015, Michael R. Tyrrell was sworn in as village trustee to fill the second vacancy. Tyrrell is a 31-year resident of the area and has a history of community involvement which includes environmental, cemetery, open space, and planning experience. Tyrrell looks forward to serving a community that places its residents, needs and environment at the forefront.
