Christmas in July: Renaissance Foundation Helps Children In Need

Since its inception in 1997, The Renaissance Foundation has served numerous children in Kane County who have suffered from abuse or neglect, whose families have sacrificed to serve our country, and those who are homeless and in need of fundamental assistance.

The Renaissance Foundation's Christmas Present Drive“For the past 10 years, the foundation has made a positive impact during the Christmas season for homeless children,” shared President Nuala Rosensteel. “In an effort to increase the number of benefitted children, we are implementing our second annual Christmas in July fund-raising drive.”

Last year, the organization was able to wrap more than 400 child-specific gifts for more than 170 homeless children. The Renaissance Foundation's volunteers wrapping gifts

“What is particularly unique about The Renaissance Foundation’s Christmas gift program is that we personally shop for each child on our list. Every year, our children receive a warm clothing item in their size, along with one or two other toys or personal items. Our hope is that each and every child knows that there are caring individuals in the community that are wishing them a very special holiday,” Rosensteel said.

All of the foundation’s work is currently being done on a volunteer basis; therefore 100 percent of all donations directly serve the mission of enriching the lives of underserved children in the community. Donations are fully tax deductible and can be made on the website here.
