The Mill Creek Special Services Area is replacing some sections of sidewalks this week, weather permitting.

Work started today (Wednesday, July 8, 2015) and is expected to be completed by July 17 — again, weather permitting. Officials had hoped to start Monday, but the heavy rain Monday afternoon and Tuesday prevented that from happening.

The work is being done by G.A. Paving. The sidewalk repair is not expected to cause much of a disruption to pedestrian or vehicle traffic, but according to a notice on the Mill Creek SSA webpage, representatives of G.A. Paving might knock on residents’ doors to request a vehicle be moved.

The repair work is taking place throughout the Mill Creek subdivision, but only on sections of sidewalk considered to be tripping or public-safety hazards. Sidewalks that are “delaminating” are not being repaired at this time.

According to Mill Creek SSA Advisory Board meeting minutes, roughly 226 squares of sidewalk were evaluated as needing repairs.
