Improvements (And Temporary Detour) Coming to Kaneville Road, Fabyan Parkway Intersection

Turn lanes, underground utilities, traffic signals, pedestrian signals with push buttons and intersection lighting.

Those are among the laundry list of improvements coming for the well-traveled intersection of Kaneville Road and Fabyan Parkway in Geneva, where work is scheduled to begin Aug. 24 and is expected to last about three months.

During construction, there will be no access to northeast bound Kaneville Road from westbound Fabyan Parkway and no access to eastbound Fabyan Parkway from southwest bound Kaneville Road. A detour route utilizing Randall Road will be posted throughout the project.

Daytime lane closures may be necessary to accomplish this work. Pedestrians using the trails adjacent to the project should use caution. Motorists should expect increased travel times and are advised to take alternate routes during the project.

Questions and concerns may be directed to Patrick VerHalen, construction project manager with the Kane County Division of Transportation, at 630-208-3138.
