Throughout the county, preschoolers through high school seniors are celebrating the last days of summer as they get ready for their first day of school.

Although it sometimes seems as if school is starting earlier and earlier each year, the 2015-16 school year is actually a little later for some Kane County school districts than it was in 2014-15. Last year, School District 300 students started Wednesday, Aug. 13.

Typically, East Aurora School District 131 starts a week later than its neighbor districts — this year on Aug. 25 — but with that exception, public schools in Kane County start next week, from Monday, Aug. 17, to Wednesday, Aug. 19.

Below is a complete list of the start days from our Kane County public school districts:

U46 – Monday, Aug. 17

Batavia 101 – Monday, Aug. 17 (High School) and Wednesday, Aug. 19 (PreK-8)

CUSD 300 – Tuesday, Aug. 18

West Aurora 129 – Wednesday, Aug. 19

Burlington 301 – Wednesday, Aug. 19

Kaneland 302 – Wednesday, Aug. 19

St. Charles 303 – Wednesday, Aug. 19

Geneva 304 – Wednesday, Aug. 19

East Aurora 131 – Tuesday, Aug. 25
