Section of Fox River Trail to Be Repaved in Algonquin

A one-mile section of the Fox River Trail in Algonquin will be closed for one month, beginning Sept. 8, for a repaving project.

The Fox River Trail will be repaved from Souwanas Trail/East County Line Road south to Bolz Road. In addition to the repaving, trail edges will be backfilled and restored. There will be signs at both ends of the project indicating closures and when trail work will be completed.

The project is part of the Forest Preserve District of Kane County’s annual maintenance program. Each year, the Forest Preserve District resurfaces up to 4 miles of trail.

The district asks trail users to be mindful of the upcoming closure, be aware of construction workers and machinery on our around the trail, and plan ahead to find an alternate route.

Schedules are subject to change due to weather and other circumstances. The project is scheduled to be completed Oct. 9. For more information, contact the Forest Preserve District at (630) 232-5980.
