Bar Foundation Hosts Rockin’ Pig Roast Sept. 18
One doesn’t usually think of a bar foundation as “rockin.’ ” (A bar maybe, but a bar foundation, not so much.)
And one doesn’t usually associate a bar foundation with a pig roast or a “state-award-winning attorney band” that goes by the name of “Disbard.”
Maybe that’s why Kane County’s Bar Association is so dang cool, and why you just might want to attend the Kane County Bar Foundation’s “Rockin’ Roast” at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, at Hickory Knolls Discovery Center in St. Charles.
In addition to the traditional pig roast, the menu includes grilled boneless chicken breasts, one-third-pound black angus burgers, jumbo angus hot dogs, veggie burgers, potato salad, corn on the cob, molasses baked beans, chips, watermelon, cookies, beer, wine and soft drinks.
Bar Association members ask everyone in Kane County to come on out and have a savory bite to eat while you enjoy the music of Disbard, which once again is billed as “Kane County’s own state-award-winning attorney band” and promises to be playing all your favorites.
Plus, it’s all for a good cause. Proceeds benefit the foundation’s charitable programs such as the Turning Point Juvenile Diversion Program, grants to local non-profits providing legal aid services, high school mock trials and more.
“Cost is $50 per person, and you do not have to be an attorney to attend!” said the Bar Association’s Jan Wade. “We hope the whole community will support this great cause.”
