Country Legend Ronnie Milsap Chooses Arcada for Chicago Farewell
Kane County will be the last place that Country Hall-of-Famer Ronnie Milsap plays music in the Chicago area.
The singer-songwriter chose the historic Arcada Theatre in St. Charles as his last Chicago stop on his national farewell tour and will bring decades of hits to the St. Charles venue at 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept 27.
“Although we host true music legends on a regular basis, it’s an extra special event when that legend has chosen our theater to be his final performance in the Chicago area,” said Ron Onesti, president and CEO of the Arcada Theatre, located at 105 E. Main Street.
With an incredible 40 No. 1 hits, six Grammys and countless other awards, Milsap’s final Chicago area appearance will be a historic and memorable special event, Onesti added.
Blind since childhood, Milsap became one of the most successful and versatile country “crossover” singers of his time, appealing to both country and pop music markets, according to Onesti. His hit songs incorporated pop, R&B, and rock ‘n’ roll elements, with his most famous including It Was Almost Like a Song, Smoky Mountain Rain, (There’s) No Gettin’ Over Me, and I Wouldn’t Have Missed It for the World.
Tickets for Ronnie Milsap’s final Chicago area performance start at $49 and are only available at the Arcada Theatre website, www.oshows.com, or by calling (630) 962-7000.
