Driver Ejected in Serious Route 47 Crash

Sheriff's Office badgeA 39-year-old Earlville man faces life-threatening injuries after his work truck flipped over Tuesday on Route 47.

According to a report from the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, Reese Bernier, 39, of Earlville was driving his 2006 Chevrolet work truck south on Route 47 near the intersection of Kenmar Drive in unincorporated Blackberry Township when the truck left the roadway on west side of Route 47. The truck veered back onto the road, began to roll and Bernier was ejected from the vehicle, the report said.

Bernier was transported to Delnor Hospital in Geneva with potential life threatening injuries.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash. Sheriff’s deputies and detectives are investigating the cause of the crash and have not determined if drugs, alcohol or texting were involved. No tickets have been issued at this time.

Route 47 was closed between Hughes Road and Main Street on Tuesday night.
