UPDATE: Complete List of Trick-or-Treat Hours in Kane County Communities 2015

trick or treating1 B

I’m trying to figure out, if I were a kid, where would I most want to go trick-or-treating in 2015?

This is a assuming I’m a law-abiding kid who does trick-or-treating during the prescribed hours. Huntley, perhaps, where there are six straight hours of sanctioned candy soliciting? Montgomery, maybe, (or North Aurora or Pingree Grove, South Elgin) where the hours go as late as 8 p.m.?

I probably shouldn’t say this, but I found it sort of amusing that the village with the shortest trick-or-treat window was Sleepy Hollow. Maybe it has something to do with that whole “headless horseman” thing.

Just in the course of updating this article (which takes forever, by the way, so please READ THIS STORY AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS), I noticed that several towns changed their hours this past year. Many moved to the 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. time period that appears to becoming standard operating procedure.

Kudos, too, to all the communities in Kane County who are making trick-or-treat hours so easy to find on their websites. I mean, you guys are awesome.

Many TOT hours are posted right there on the home page, so you don’t have to do a lot of searching around to find what you’re looking for. Many include great Halloween safety tips, information about published sexual predator lists and other information that can help you have a safe and happy Halloween.

Below are links to info from all of Kane County’s municipalities, even some that have just a toe print in Kane County. For the record, some links will take you straight to the trick-or-treat page or posted article, some take you to a calendar page, some take you to the homepage where the info is in plain sight, and a few (the “Could Not Find” variety) just take you to the community’s website where maybe you can find the info I missed.

As always, if there are errors, changes or updates, just send an email to nagelrick@co.kane.il.us, and I’ll make the appropriate correction.

Happy Halloween 2015, everybody!
