Detours Ahead: Parade, RR Crossing Work in Downtown Geneva

Because Geneva is the county seat, and frankly, because the Gov Center is where I work — and to be even more frank, because city of Geneva Communications Coordinator Kevin Stahr does such a great job letting the community know about stuff like this — we probably post more alerts about downtown Geneva traffic than any other town in Kane County.

Sorry about that.

Still, if you are traveling through downtown Geneva the next couple days, we thought you might like to know that a couple of events could cause delays and force you to take a little more time to get from Point A to Point B.

First is the Geneva Homecoming Parade, set for Friday afternoon. Second is Union Pacific Railroad work at the Third Street rail crossing, set for Saturday and Sunday.

Below are Kevin’s posts, courtesy of the city of Geneva.

As a final aside, if you have transportation news to share from any town in Kane County, send an email to nagelrick@co.kane.il.us, and we’ll help get the message out.
